How do I find such peace?

I know nothing about this. I have read about meditation in the past but have never gotten anywhere with it.

I love music and I go through libraries, just looking for things I have not heard. This is how I came across "Dakshina." I have never heard anything so beautiful. But it's not just the music. Thee is something else inside a person that allows them to sing and play that way. I want to know what that is. Thank you.

hi,
one suggestion : sing mantras !!
it's a known & powerful tool, for eg. Kirtan in Bhakti Yoga etc.

from your reaction to the music, I think it could be a good tool for you too

just sing along,
no need to try to be Pavarotti,
"don't judge your experience",
let yourself be carried by the music ...
but most important : sing with your heart

'feel' the beauty .. you could be surprised to realize that at that moment you do have "what's inside a person that allows them to sing and play that way." !!

do it regularly, it's just like going to the gym,
go training once a month & you probably wont get much results ;-)
(ditto for meditation by the way)

try it, if it clicks for you, then great,
if it's not for you .. just try something else, no big deal.

you could also look for Satsang circles around where you live,
check the Satsang section on the forum.

hi ponce,

that something that's inside a person that allows them to sing and play that way is that's which needs to be discovered & not to be known. Knowing it is too pale even though it provides a certain seed for you to use as growth. You've been able to recognized that space & that's very good and also remember that meditation won't lead you anywhere but will just bring awareness to you constantly in the present moment & that's the whole beauty of it. Again reading about it is not enough... to discover something sometimes needs to be scientist & go through the experiment itself where even the scientist becomes the experiment itself. A good way for you to start with i guess is to find that in which you feel grateful & blessing of the beauty of being yourself or being among the trees, birds...etc. Just go deeper in relaxation & that's the key i feel is right for you.
