Deva, Miten and Manose are opening their 2010 tour schedule with events in New Zealand and Australia, followed by their first-ever joint concert tour with Krishna Das in the USA this spring. The European tour this year is the most extensive ever, including visits to Findhorn, Scotland; Riga, Latvia; and Bucharest, Romania. Hi beloved friends – so, another new year is upon us. We trust it will be a blessed and sacred journey, full of the great teachings and blissful experiences. Our news is simple: Deva is busy in the studio, recording mantras with Tibetan monks. The Gyuto monks have a small monastery here in Byron Bay. They rotate regularly with other monks from their monastery in Dharamsala, so Byron is blessed with their on-going presence. Here they are in our garden! |

This is Sonam, a senior monk, presenting Deva with a mala at the beginning of the recording sessions. The ‘music’ is very intense, as you would expect – the monks deep, ‘other-worldly’ chanting, is in high contrast to Deva’s. As you might imagine, she is very honored and touched at how the monks have totally embraced the project. As soon as we finish it, you will hear the results! I can promise you it is something special. |

We had the opportunity to receive a puja from the monks in our house last week. It was truly, truly awesome. As for Manose, he has been in Kathmandu with his mother and family (at last!) and is doing great. We are all looking forward to getting back on the road and playing for you all again, soon! |

"The universe is an expansion of energy, and life is the crystallization of it. What we see as matter, what we see as stone, is also energy. So when you enter into meditation the hidden energy may awaken with such force that it gets connected with the energy on the outside. But as soon as this connection is established we be come like tiny leaves floating in the infinite ocean of winds. Then our separate existence is lost and we become one with the immeasurable.
