you know that leonard cohen song – first we take manhattan then we take berlin...?
it’s a good song to sing on the road.
berlin was special for us because we have friends there.

we took a bike ride to the brandenburg gate where we met ali and michaele.



ali schmidt and michaele hustedt were long time members of the german green party.
they must have been the only members of the german parliament who were into singing mantras!
here they are in the houses of parliament in berlin, where they showed us around.





i can’t say that i ever expected to be dancing in the house of parliament in germany, but hey, life is full of surprises...



..especially with ali and michaele around!



an uplifting experience which gave us hope for a brighter future



meanwhile, back at the theatre, things were loosening up
